I think it is worth keeping in mind that there is a lot of variability in how much broth you can make with the same bones. If you’re not going to be making a lot of this you might want to use a different recipe and maybe even cut some of the bones. The downside is the more bones you use the more bones take up the space in the pot and the less amount you can actually use.
I just did a recipe that makes about 2 1/2 cups of bone broth, which is enough for four people.
If youre going to be making bone broth of any kind you might want to consider looking at recipes with less bones and more vegetables. For example, this recipe makes about 4 cups of broth, but if you want to make more you can easily increase the amount with more vegetables. By the way, I made this and it came out a little bit dark. The recipe I used had a lot of bones, but it definitely was a little dark.
Because I wanted a little bit of dark broth, we used a recipe I found on the Barebones Bone Broth website that only uses bones and vegetables. This recipe makes about 5 cups of broth, which is plenty for four people.
For the most part we used a recipe from the Barebones website, but I did some tweaking to make it a little darker and a little less bone-heavy. The broth was always nice and dark regardless of what I used, but we did use another recipe that made it a little bit darker. In the end, the broth was a little bit darker, and it only took me a few tries to get it right.
I love that Barebones does not use any other animal products on their site, and I think that is a great attitude to have. I have no idea why anyone would want to buy the bone broth that all of the other recipes use (or not buy at all), but I think it’s a great idea. I didn’t have any of my own chicken broth (or any other animal products for that matter) so I had to use Barebones.
