As the game’s main protagonist, you’re on Deathloop’s party island, where you get the chance to be in control of your life. But you also want to be in control of your life when you die.
So in Deathloop, you don’t get a phone. Instead, you get a soap dispenser. But you have to keep it clean while you’re in Deathloop. You have to keep your soap clean, so that when you die you can rinse the soap off of your body. But, as the game progresses, you realize that you no longer need the soap.
This is actually kind of cool. The soap dispenser is really the only part that actually moves in the game. Everything else is just a static image of a soap dispenser. It’s just a beautiful piece of art that you can interact with.
It turns out that Deathloop, while similar to the other games in the Arkane franchise, is also very different. Deathloop is essentially a soap dispenser game. The game, like the soap dispenser itself, actually moves in a time loop. So when you die in Deathloop, you are washed away, but the soap dispenser also moves forward in time. And, in true soap dispenser fashion, the soap dispenser is the only part that moves.
When you die, you are washing away the dead and the dead become yours, which is like a candy bar or a candy bar. But if you die just like in the beginning, you’re still the candy bar.
