I love the simplicity and versatility of this cake. I can make it in any color I want, whether it’s a pale yellow, a pale orange, or a vibrant green. I’m also going to try the recipe for the Chocolate Chip Peanut Butter Pie, which is one of my most favorite desserts.
The only other recipe I try is a cake dough that is too short and too thin for a bowl (especially on a tabletop). That’s probably a good thing, because that’s just how I like to make my own dough. I have to tell you it’s a pretty simple recipe, to make it a little easier.
The only problem with this recipe is that it takes a while to cook the cake. Its probably best that you bake the cake and frost it yourself. I have been experimenting with this recipe for a few years but I have never gotten the timing right. The way the frosting sits on the cake makes it so that the cake won’t just fall apart when you try to cut it. Sometimes its even easier to just slice it.
